Frequently asked questions about the FTAPI platform.

With the FTAPI platform, you can send and receive sensitive data easily and securely directly via the browser, from Outlook or via the mobile apps, regardless of the file size. FTAPI is developed, hosted and operated in Germany and offers – depending on the selected security level – the possibility to transfer data end-to-end encrypted. FTAPI does not require complicated certificates and is therefore as simple as sending a normal e-mail. FTAPI is therefore the secure alternative to S/Mime, PGP or even insecure file sharing platforms.

FTAPI offers four security levels for data transfer that you can select. In levels 3 and 4, the platform offers true end-to-end encryption based on its own SecuPass technology. Only the respective communication partners are able to decrypt this data. All data is also stored in secure data centers in Germany and not transferred to insecure third countries. Numerous other security features such as virus scanners or brute force detection provide additional security.

No, your communication partners do not need their own infrastructure, software or license. You can communicate with an unlimited number of people via FTAPI without any additional costs. Each of your external communication partners receives a free guest account from FTAPI through which he/she can retrieve and decrypt the data you send. Likewise, these persons can easily send you large or sensitive files, for example via your digital mailbox, the so-called SubmitBox.
Your communication partners only need Internet access. Nothing more is required… no proprietary software, infrastructure or the like. There is also no need to exchange complicated certificates or send passwords manually for end-to-end encryption. With the automatic key exchange, everything is very simple.
The number of your external recipients and communication partners is unlimited. This also means that there are no additional costs, no matter how many people you send files to or receive data from.
You can easily send data via the browser, directly from Outlook or via the mobile apps. No special knowledge is required for this. Your communication partners can also easily send data to you via FTAPI. One option for this is the SubmitBox, your digital mailbox. FTAPI also offers secure online forms with the SecuForms product, which enable structured and secure data input.
FTAPI uses only secure, certified data centers located in Germany.
Single file sizes up to 100 GB are possible without any problems. If you need more, please contact us. The restrictions of your email mailbox / Exchange server do not play a role for FTAPI and do not apply.

Frequently asked questions about FTAPI SecuRooms.

SecuRooms are the secure data rooms of FTAPI. Unlike SecuMails, they are not used to send or receive data, but to store data securely and allow defined persons to access it. The focus here is on secure sharing, making available and joint work, e.g. within the scope of projects. Data can be shared with both internal and external persons. The data is stored in end-to-end encrypted form and only authorized persons can access and decrypt the data, regardless of time and place.
The areas of application for data rooms are diverse. They are most frequently used for secure collaboration in large-scale projects, due diligence audits or in the context of sensitive communication, e.g. within the company board or management. There are also now defined standards and compliance regulations for secure data exchange in numerous industries. Among other things, data rooms are used in tax consulting and auditing (e.g., filing and provision of sensitive documents), in hospitals, manufacturing companies, or government agencies.
The data rooms are accessed via a corresponding data room client or via our data room app. In the future (end of 2021), the data rooms will also be very easy to use and operate via the browser.
In principle, you can store all common file types in our data rooms, regardless of their size.
FTAPI exclusively uses secure data centers located in Germany. Depending on the selected package or booked option, the data will be stored in certified high-security data centers. Known partners of FTAPI are, for example, SysEleven or 1&1 IONOS.

No. FTAPI works according to the zero-knowledge principle. This means that no one except authorized users can view and decrypt an encrypted communication.

Frequently asked questions about FTAPI SecuFlows.

FTAPI SecuFlows are workflow automations based on the SecuCloud secure data transfer platform. With FTAPI SecuFlows, hundreds of recurring workflows can be easily automated without writing a single line of code. The data transferred and stored as part of the automations is optimally protected at all times by the underlying SecuCloud data transfer platform.

The SecuFlows are part of the SecuCloud secure data exchange platform, which unites all FTAPI solutions. In the future, it is planned to manage individual SecuFlows and integrate further FTAPI solutions via SecuCloud and a corresponding user interface.

There are virtually no limits to the imagination here: In principle, all digital data, insofar as it is accessible in the source systems via an interface, can be made usable and processed by means of an automated workflow. Interfaces such as file systems, Rest-API, FTP, but also FTAPI products such as SecuForms or the data rooms can be used.

Common workflows include the automated processing of online applications, the digital dispatch of HR documents or large files.

Our Technical Implementation Team is sure to find numerous processes in your company that you can easily automate.

If possible, we integrate a system with its specific interface (e.g. FTP, SQL, SMTP, IMAP). Likewise, data from Excel or CSV tables as well as from internal file systems can be read and processed. If these options are not available, the Rest API can be used as an alternative. Our Technical Implementation Team will be happy to clarify your requirements with you and will have the right solution ready.

We offer an increasing number of processes in a quasi-standardized form. This means that only a brief check of your specific requirements (third-party systems, interfaces, type and provision of data) is necessary and our team can then immediately start implementation. The provision of such processes is usually possible within a few days.
